Annabel Jane Holman (VP social anglo)

My name is Annabel Holman, and I’m running for the position of VP Social Anglo with uOttawa’s Communications Students’ Association (CSA) in the by-election! As a fourth-year student, I understand how important it is to connect with peers, especially during the new and sometimes overwhelming experiences that come with student life. Through this position, my goal is to build a strong and welcoming community among Communication students.

As VP Social Anglo, I aim to create inclusive and memorable events that fit into everyone’s schedule. This could include study meetups, game nights, or larger events such as off-campus socials and themed gatherings. Each event will be an opportunity for students to unwind, have fun, and make connections — whether that means meeting future friends, classmates, or study partners!

I bring to this role strong organizational and planning experience. Volunteering with other student clubs has helped me develop my ability to coordinate resources and plan engaging activities that appeal to everyone. I also have experience organizing social gatherings, which will help CSA events flourish and stay lively, creating memorable experiences and lasting connections.

As a creative thinker, I want to design fresh, outside-the-box events that are exciting yet accessible and affordable for all students. By combining creativity with accessibility, I hope to organize events that truly serve and inspire the student community. I also want to hear your ideas and bring to life the kinds of events you’d love to see happen!

Thank you for taking the time to read my statement. I’d be honoured and excited to represent you as VP Social Anglo!

Franck Pokam Mongoue (Vp Communication Franco)

My name is Franck Pokam, an international student in my second year of Communication studies. Passionate about public relations and all aspects of communication dynamics, I am constantly seeking opportunities to apply the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my academic journey.

My interest in joining the association stems primarily from my desire to become more involved in the communication field and to collaborate with other students who share the same aspirations. I am convinced that the association offers an ideal environment to develop practical skills, expand my network, and actively contribute to student life.

Another important motivation lies in my wish to raise awareness of the association among a wider number of students. Through my interactions, I’ve noticed that many are not sufficiently informed about its existence or its activities. I would therefore like to help promote the association by contributing to communication strategies that make it more visible, attractive, and inclusive.

I am confident that my enthusiasm, interest in public relations, and willingness to collaborate can be valuable assets in enhancing the association’s visibility and outreach. Joining your team would be an opportunity for me to learn, share, and contribute positively.
