Elections

The general elections for the 2024-2025 CSA Executive Team will take place from March 23rd-April 4th, 2024

Voting 

You can cast your vote through ElectionBuddy from April 3-4, 2024. You will receive a ballot in your UOttawa email. Polls will close at 6 PM on April 4th. 

Open Positions

PRESIDENT

  • Lead the Executive Council and act as the primary representative and spokesperson on behalf of the Association, representing its interests and promoting its values

  • Chair Executive Council meetings and attend various meetings including the Presidents Roundtable and intra-university committees as necessary, maintaining relations with other student groups on campus

  • Be a skilled communicator, fluent in both official languages, and have 6 months of previous experience as a member of the Executive Council.

VP SOCIAL (Anglo +Franco)

  • Planning all CSA events throughout the year (including CommProm).

  • Collaborating with other
RSGs to allow communication students to meet people from other faculties.

VP INFORMATION (Anglo +Franco)

  • Responsible for all communication-related matters of the association and ensuring they are bilingual. 

  • Responsible for managing the association’s website, mailing list, and all social media platforms. 

  • Responsible for the association’s brand image and its visibility on and off campus. 

VP UNI AFFAIRS (Anglo +Franco)

  • Organize academic events and campaigns. 

  • Represent students on the department’s administrative and academic committees. 

  • Sit on all intra-university committees requiring association participation related to academic issues.

VP SENIOR AFFAIRS

  • Act as a liaison between senior students and the executive committee, and encourage them to actively participate in the association.

  • Plan events (social or academic) to bring together senior students. 

  • Work with the Department of Communication to lead a mentorship program for junior and senior students. 

VP FINANCE

  • Oversee all financial activities of the association, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

  • Develop and manage a budget for each term, providing recommendations  and advising the executive council on budgetary decisions.

  • Attend monthly Money Roundtable meetings and ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information

VP PHILANTHROPY

  • Act as the association’s representative for charitable and community engagement. 

  • Plan at least one philanthropic event of your choice per semester. 

  • Raise charitable funds for non-profit organizations of the executive committees choosing.

VP EQUITY AND WELLNESS

  • Work closely with the executive committee to ensure all initiatives and events remain equitable to the student body.

  • Plan at least one equity or student wellness event of your choice.

  • Attend monthly Equity Roundtable meetings and maintain a good relationship with UOSU equity services.

Platforms must be submitted to elections@aeec-csa.ca in both official languages and cannot exceed 600 words total (~300 EN and ~300 FR). Please include a photo of yourself with your submission.
